In this guide, we will show you how to create a Bitcoin Paper Wallet.
First, let’s explain what is a Paper Wallet.
According to https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Paper_wallet
“In the most specific sense, a paper wallet is a document containing all of the data necessary to generate any number of Bitcoin private keys, forming a wallet of keys. However, people often use the term to mean any way of storing bitcoins offline as a physical document. This second definition also includes paper keys and redeemable codes. A paper key is a single key written on paper that is used multiple times like a wallet (this is strongly discouraged). A redeemable code is a single key intended to be funded and “redeemed” only once: these are commonly used for gifts and as part of physical Bitcoin coins/notes.”
After we’ve learned what is bitcoin paper wallet lets learn how to make one.
Visit the following website https://bitcoinpaperwallet.com/
Click on the green button on the right > Generate Keys & Print Paper Wallets
On the next page just move your mouse around and/or type random keystrokes in this box. However, we recommend moving your mouse around until the box on the right hit 0 (zero). You will notice green dots popping everywhere, it’s part of the process.
Once we are done we will be navigated to another page, a final page where we need to set up our paper wallet and choose from the existing design and print it.
Click on “Instructions” From the drop-down menu select a design.
When you change the design it will preview on the right side of the page
Click on Print Front. (This is optional but if you want to can generate a new address by clicking on RANDOM GENERATE NEW WALLET).
Once we’ve generated a new wallet, by clicking on the button, on the right side click on Print Wallet Front.
Then move on the third tab that says “3. Print Back” Before clicking on Print Wallet Back make sure you Reload the front page into your printer first then click on Print Wallet Back.
To add funds to your wallet (or if someone wants to send coins to your address), make sure you write down the address where it says PUBLIC ADDRESS, double check if the address is correct.
To withdraw funds from your wallet. you should expect to withdraw the entire balance of the wallet by importing it (or “sweeping” it) to a live wallet, e.g. a Bitcoin wallet application or online services like blockchain.info or coinbase.com by using the Private key that is printed on the paper wallet on the back side of it.
Next we’ll be using Blockchain.info to access our Bitcoin Paper Wallet. Click here to learn how to create an account on Blockchain.info, once you have created an account please continue this guide.
This is what it looks like after enabling all the important options for securing your wallet.
Once we are ready to move on, click on “SETTINGS” from the menu choose “Addresses” and where it says “Import Bitcoin Address” make sure you type the private key and click “Import”.
After importing our private key, the coins will be automatically be added to our address and ready to be used.
