In this guide, we will show you how to setup BitShares Desktop Wallet.
BitShares support the following platforms: Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Let’s start off by visiting their official website https://bitshares.org/ then click > Download.
Since we are doing a Windows version of the tutorial click Windows and download it.
Once BitShares is installed Click > Create Account.
Create an Account Name.
The generated Password is your private password that only YOU should keep.
Please save your Generated Password in a document for safe keeping.
Once you have saved your password, copy the password and paste it in the “Confirm Password” box.
Reminder, SAVE YOUR GENERATED PASSWORD.
Next, tick each box once you have read and understood the terms.
One thing that is pretty unique about Bitshares Desktop Wallet, is the Exchange feature.
To send BitShares, Click > Send
Or on the far right, next to your username click on the toggle.
A menu will appear, Click > Send
Since we do not have any BitShares in our account, it will only show
To: Type the account name (account name is the name that people will use to register with/login with)
Your recent activity will appear on the right. (Image Below)

If you want to deposit or withdraw funds, either in fiat or from other blockchains, you may use a bridge or gateway service to do so.
In order to receive BTS from another person or from an exchange simply give them your account name: *Your Bitshares Username*
